While we were there we decided to try out an Australian McDonalds. I don't have many pictures but this was probably the most posh McDonald's I have ever seen. The design of the building was pretty cool and it had a large outdoor eating area with a play place. Inside the McDonals was a huge dessert case with a bunch of McCafe baked goods (where the hell are these in the states?) We decided to share a piece of chocolate cake and we each got our own sandwiches. I'm not sure if it was because I haven't had McDonald's in a while or if it was because the ingredients were of a higher quality, but it was the best fast food hamburger I have ever had.
I also had my first experience of downtown Ballina where we went into a few shops along the road. We stopped at a dress store and I got a really cute black and white maxi dress I'll wear sometime on the trip. While we were there we went to Crazy Clarks, a kind of dollar general down here, and got supplies for everyone to make valentines.
Once we got back into camp I made my valentine and started to get ready and bake my cake for the party. Every cabin made a dessert and an appetizer and we drew names out of a hat to determine who we would give our valentines to. We all had a really great time at the party. Like most every night, Valentines ended with sitting on the porch singing as someone plays guitar. I can say with great confidence that this has been the best valentines day ever!
