Today was our first day of Marine Biology. The beginning classroom portion was a little hard to follow but I think that may be a result of not having had to pay attention to anything for over 2 months. After our classroom portion we had a little over 3 hours of field work exploring the mangroves around Ballina. The first one we visited was VERY muddy and I ended up with mud caked all over my legs. The main things we found there were small crabs and plant life. The second one we visited however was more of a salt water environment. While there we got to see thousands of soldier crabs and a few hermit crabs. The soldier crabs were a little creepy because they looked like spiders but with a much harder exoskeleton.

Once we returned I went to go work out with our GA Aimee as she prepares for her September wedding. We tried to work out in the gym but were denied access to the facility by about 500 grade school children. We tried to do Zumba in one of the cabins but I clearly was not cut out for it, sorry Aimee.
